Created by the Treasure company, responsible for the design of notorious Mega Drive classics such as Gunstar Heroes and Dynamite Headdy.
The game takes place in colorful levels, with the clown Ronald Mc. Donalds. Despite being a children's license, the game earned favorable reviews in magazines. It is also a rare game for collectors, and is rare to find in places that still sell older games.
- TRIVIA -
In the European and Japanese versions, players collect gold and silver rings instead of white and gold flowers in this American version.

There were also plans for an N-Gage version of the game that allowed for local bluetooth two-player deathmatch along with single player game modes, however due to the poor performance of the platform, Sega decided to cancel this version of the game.

An arcade version also intended for North America was advertised, however it has not yet been confirmed if any cabinets made it into production. The plan was to allow 4 vs. 4 Dreamcast vs. NAOMI matches over the internet as well as offering local multiplayer.

Buck Rogers - Planet of Zoom (c) 1982 Sega.
Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom is a forward-scrolling rail shooter where the user controls a spaceship in a behind-the-back third-person perspective that must destroy enemy ships and avoid obstacles. The game was notable for its fast pseudo 3-D scaling and detailed sprites. The game would later go on to influence the 1985 Sega hit Space Harrier. Buck is never seen in the game, except presumably in the illustration on the side of the arcade cabinet, and its only real connections to Buck Rogers are the use of the name and the outer space setting. In Japan, the game was known as Zoom 909.
