(Super Mario - Yossy Island)
Yossy Island is an action/platform game. It is the sequel of Super Mario World and is set in the past, when Mario was just a baby. Much like the old story of babies being delivered by a stork and in a bassinet, the game starts as Mario and his twin brother are carried to their parents... But things do not really work out that well, and a curious flying character on a broom hits them, stealing one of the baby and forcing the stork to drop baby Mario in the open sea. Thankfully, he safely lands on an tiny island, home of the Yoshies, and at first they do not really know what to do with this unusual visitor. Quickly, they decide to take the baby to his parents, while Kamek, the evil mind behind the babies kidnaping, sends his forces to capture Mario. Unlike other games of the series, the player controls a Yoshi and baby Mario simply sits on his back. When Yoshi receives a hit, Mario gets thrown in the air and ends up floating in a little bubble. A count down starts and if Yoshi fails to rescue baby Mario, Kamek's evil toads capture him. This timer can be increased by collecting stars along the way or by reaching check points. Yoshi's primary weapons are eggs that he can collect from special green egg blocks, or by 'ingesting' his enemies. When Yoshi eats baddies, he can spit them out or make green eggs out of them (by pressing down). Yossy Island has countless possibilities - Yoshi can shoot eggs, leap and hang in the air, stomp the ground, eat special items and later in the game even turns into a helicopter or a digging machine. The game is literally huge with six large worlds made out of eight levels each (plus several bonus levels, boss stages and mini games).
