According to Christie's of London, this is the Cresset wall bagatelle machine by the Cresset Coin Machine Co., with red velvet backboard, in oak case, circa 1910. In an auction of the Nic Costa Collection of Amusement Machines held on January 19, 2006, it realized a price of $1,475 (including buyer's premium).
The Cresset Automatic Machine Co. was located at 433 Canterbury St. in Gillingham, England. The principals were Henry John Gerard Pessers and J. Mancini; Writh & Gurr are two other names of people known to have worked there. The company operated from 1901 to 1926. Cresset machines were marketed under the names Bullseye, Pickwick, Improved Pickwick and The Cresset.
