Spellsinger © 1994 Art & Magic.
Travel through fantastic lands and dangerous areas to save Tanna, the lost child.
Born in the imagination of the first design team of Art & Magic, this heroic-fantasy game never came out! However, the extreme beauty of the backgrounds and the quality of its design are quite interesting, even today years after. With sympathetic heroes, Merlin the wizard, many different monsters and beautiful scenes.
Featuring a choice of five worlds to explore, two simultaneous players with join-in and powerful sound effects.
This game was made in Belgium. Unfortunately, as the game was progessing slowly because of a series of unanticipated difficulties, they had to pause the development several times to work on alternative, commercial-friendly games to keep cash flowing into the company. Ultimately, the project was canned because all of the resources were canibalized by those smaller 'side' projects. In the end the game had so much delay that it was rendered obsolete after about three years in the making.
The complete name of the game is Spellsinger and the lost child. The name 'Spellsinger' was chosen after a painting by Tony Roberts.
Some pre-rendered 3d animated elements can be found throughout the game (such as the swinging chandeliers...). These elements were made and animate with 3d studio 4.
