Are you the Tap Master? Challenge your musical skills in this exciting and innovative rhythm game by the creation of "In The Groove," Kyle Ward.

ReRave is a touchscreen based arcade rhythm game where users are rated on both timing and precision of where they tap the notes on the screen. Musical notes are represented by "power" symbols, where the bar in circle starts at the bottom and spins around counter-clockwise. Players must tap the note in the center of the circle when the bar reaches the 12 o'clock position.

The game features Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulties for the songs, and originally supported free online player accounts, song downloads and leaderboards. It also supports two players per screen.

The game was later released to mobile platforms, with the arcade holding a slight advantage in having some songs that the mobile port did not enjoy.

Step Revolution created the software for the game, while Coast To Coast Entertainment produced the game cabinets. The initial release featured a giant 47in. 1080p multi-input touchscreen that was capable of handling enough inputs for four hands. This cabinet was quite bulky and featured an elaborate multi-color RGB LED lighting device behind the marquee. This device was programmed to work in sync with the music.

The game itself was powered by a typical mid-level PC (for 2012), perfectly capable of driving the 1080p, 60 FPS graphics.

It also came with a large 12in. subwoofer, Pioneer speakers and a headphone jack with separate volume control.

UPDATES

In 2014, Step Revolution released ReRave Plus, a major upgrade to the software based upon location and player feedback. This added a female narrator to help players learn the game, while offering encouragement as they played. It removed 2-player mode, increased the frame rate to 90, added more songs and also introduced "Wild" difficulty. The game received semi-frequent updates through 2015, until the server was shut down.

This update was initially released as a kit and soon afterwards as a dedicated cabinet. The new cabinet used a completely different design, sporting two screens (much like DJ Max Technika, where it was intended to work as a kit upgrade for those machines). The player interface screen was half the size of the original ReRave screen and was the primary reason for the removal of the two-player mode.

ReRave Plus was also released to iOS & Android platforms.
