Theron's Quest - Dungeon Master © 1992 Victor.
Theron's Quest is a first-person dungeon crawler for the PC-Engine system, conversion of FTL's popular Dungeon Master. On the night of the harvest festival, the great wizard Grey Lord descended from the sky and landed in Theron's village. He was looking for a warrior courageous enough to retrieve the seven parts of a magic armor, what he called The Seven Symbols Of The Brave. Theron, a young boy ready to become a man, accepts the challenge and is now on a journey to retrieve the stolen treasures. The player takes control of Theron and three other warriors (a different party can be created at the beginning of each dungeon). The game features seven small dungeons (Ak-Tu-Ba, City Of Formica, Village Of Thieves, Tower Of Drator, Tomb Of Sarmon, Den Of Shadodan and Demon's gate), and each one of them is a separate adventure entirely. Theron has to go venture inside each dungeon, retrieve the stolen piece of holy armor and trace his steps back so the treasure can be placed inside a sacred shrine. Unlike other games of the series, all the collected belongings are lost between each level, and only the hero of the game, Theron, keeps his statistics and gained levels. Each dungeon has its own background story and sets of monsters - Ak-Tu-Ba, for instance, is a floating fortress infested with mummies and City of Formica a large network of creepy underground tunnels.
