8-Ball introduced the 'split bank' concept, developed by Norm Clark, to keep track throughout a two-player game of which targets had been hit by each player.
On the backglass, the billiard players have cufflinks monogrammed with "N.C." and "S.K.", a probable reference to Norm Clark and Steve Kordek.
