At the title screen before pressing Start, press Up, Right, Down, Left, Circle, Circle, Square, Square. A sound confirms the code. It switches the character based on The Great Muta into one based on Keiji Mutoh. The code can be entered back and forth, multiple times on the title screen, to switch him back and forth between personalities.
Also at the title screen before pressing Start, press Square, Square, Circle, Circle, Left, Down, Right, Up. A sound confirms correct code entry. Selecting the character based on Tatsumi Fujinami will now enable the player to play as a wrestler based on Antonio Inoki. Entering the code again disables the effect.
Clear Champion Road in either Single or Tag to unlock these hidden characters based on the following wrestlers:
The Dynamite Kid (New Japan Pro Wrestling)
Tiger Mask (New Japan Pro Wrestling)
Bruiser Brody (All Japan Pro Wrestling)
Andre The Giant (World Wrestling Federation)
Royce Gracie (Ultimate Fighting Championship)

Title Match
When Champion Road is completed, the player enters the name of their championship and then their name as follows:
Directional button to move cursor
L1 to move name cursor to the left
R1 to move name cursor to the right
Triangle to delete a character and move to the right
Circle to enter a character
The bottom line second to last character from left changes to English while the bottom line last character from left ends the name entering process.
The game will save, and the previously unavailable Title Match mode icon will now become selectable. This mode requires two/four controllers and two memory cards to play. The defending champion needs to have his or her memory card connected to slot 1, and the challenger needs to have his or her memory card connected to slot 2. When the championship changes hands, the mode once again becomes inaccessible unless the card slots are changed. When a championship changes hands, the winning player is to input only their name for their championship. You can carry a maximum of 8 championship belts.
